brew 4.0 SDK 是高通公司最新推出的BREW平台开发包。新增和更新了一些函数和实例，欢迎使用新的版本来开发BREW平台软件！ BREW 4.0 provides changes in the BREW architecture to support the next generation device platform and application development environment. These changes support a more extensive framework for device development and secure process environment for applications to run. BREW 4.0 is designed to run on top of Component Services 1.0, and includes the following improvements over prior BREW versions. Component Services is an OS abstraction layer that provides a runtime environment and consistent platform for development of BREW and mobile device software. BREW 4.0 introduces improved security with the ability to execute applications in restricted environments. Security is improved through memory protected processes which protect other applications and system software from applications that are defective, poorly designed, or designed for malicious attack. Instead of a single, static size heap for all applications, each process has its own heap that can grow as necessary. On top of Component Services, BREW 4.0 provides applications support for preemptive multitasking and true preemptive multithreading, so critical BREW applications can run in higher priority processes than other BREW applications achieving better run-time performance. BREW 4.0 is backward compatible in that legacy applications written with BREW 3.1 or earlier will compile and run on BREW 4.0. Please refer to the Backward compatibility section later in this document for details. BREW 4.0 makes use of services provided by Component Services (CS) 1.0. For this reason, CS must be ported to a device before porting BREW 4.0.
