ABSTRACT A small monitor program for the MSP430F1xx and MSP430F4xx microcontrollers that incorporate at least one integrated USART provides a facility for examining the device memory and updating the flash contents with new application code via a universal synchronous/asynchronous receive/transmit (USART) peripheral interface. A personal computer (PC) and a terminal emulation package are all that is required to access the device memory.
