Executable and Linkable Format (ELF)
The Executable and Linking Format was originally developed and published by UNIX System Labora-
tories (USL) as part of the Application Binary Interface (ABI). The Tool Interface Standards committee
(TIS) has selected the evolving ELF standard as a portable object file format that works on 32-bit Intel
Architecture environments for a variety of operating systems.
using ld (gnu ld manual)
ld combines a number of object and archive files, relocates their data and ties up symbol
references. Usually the last step in compiling a program is to run ld.
gdpproxy manual
The gdbproxy program is a gdbvsever-like application for embedded environment. The
main purpose of gdbproxy is it allow truly remote debugging working as an integral part of
the set of utilities called Labslave. It is supposed to be run on the computer located near
a system being debugged. It communicates with debugger over net using standard GDP
remote protocol. It incorporates a number of targets which allow it to hook up a system
being debugged.
