Torque Control Strategy of an IPMSM Considering the Flux Variation of the
Abstract—The variation of the remanence of the Permanent Magnet (PM), according to operating temperature and manufacturing tolerance, especially in the magnetization of the magnet, results in variation of the capability curve of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM). The analysis of the measured torque and estimated flux at several temperatures is described in this paper. Also, a torque control scheme of the IPMSM considering the flux variation of PM, which can be used in the full operation region, is proposed. The scheme is based on measured data and interpolation method, and generates G modified current reference for the precise control of torque regardless of operating temperature and manufacturing tolerance. The validity of the proposed technique is verified by experiments, and the results demonstrate their feasibilities and reasonable performances.

Compensation of Inverter Nonlinearity Based on Trapezoidal Voltage
Abstract—Trapezoidal voltages can be used to compensate for the inverter nonlinearity. Especially, the modulating shape of those voltages facilitates adaptations to varying operating conditions. In this paper, practical schemes were proposed to improve the performance of the compensation method using the trapezoidal voltages. After those schemes are detailed, their effectiveness is confirmed through experimental results.

Characterizing the Torque Lookup Table of an IPM Machine for Automotive
Abstract— Motor drive technologies are being incorporated into the EV and HEV automobiles with ever increasing speed. With the output torque to be the main control target, various control algorithms are developed that aim to achieve high torque accuracy while maximizing the machine energy efficiency. Most of such control algorithms entail procedures to characterize the machine under control. This paper documents a detailed, industrially practical procedure of characterizing the torque lookup table for interior permanent magnet (IPM) synchronous machines. The characterized lookup table can be utilized in open-loop torque control algorithms, and is verified to achieve high torque control accuracy and suitable for torque control of IPM in automotive applications.
